Chicken Burgers with Yogurt and Tomato Sauce

You’ll absolutely fall in love with these chicken burgers with yogurt and tomato sauce — guaranteed! Juicy, flavorful, and light, they’re everything you could ask for in a meal. The tomato sauce and yogurt on the side take this recipe to the next level. A must-try!
We served our burgers with Organic Oat Rusks.

What we will need:

  • 1 kg minced chicken (thigh and breast)
  • 1 bunch fresh spring onions, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • ½ glass sparkling water
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp aromatic chicken spice mix
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • Salt and pepper
  • A little olive oil for frying

 

For the tomato sauce:

  • 1 medium onion, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 medium tomatoes, grated
  • A few mint leaves
  • ½ tsp grape molasses (petimezi)
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Execution:

  1. In a large bowl, add the minced chicken, garlic, onion, pepper, spice mix, oregano, egg, sparkling water, salt, and pepper.
  2. Knead the mixture well until all ingredients are fully combined.
  3. Shape into small patties and grill them in a pan with a little olive oil until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Meanwhile, in a small pot, sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil.
  5. Add the grated tomato, grape molasses, and mint. Season with salt and pepper and simmer for about 10 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve the patties topped with the tomato sauce and yogurt, accompanied by Organic Oat Rusks.
